FOR YEARS, the world has seen Chicago as the birth place of "House Music." There was also the perception that there was no Unity. This is why it has always been thought that House Music never achieved it's fullest potential commercially. Even with all the success that it has achieved, unfortunately the truth of the matter is that the local records labels who profited from the world wide acclaim did so at the expense of the unknowing dj's, artists and producers. Because of this the pioneers who brought us "House Music" became segregated and unsupportive of each other. However, with maturity comes Unity.

The term"HOUSE MUSIC" was derived from a gay club in Chicago known as the WAREHOUSE. Frankie Knuckles was the dj and his soulful style of disco music that he played was termed HOUSE MUSIC. A distinction must be made between House Music as it was known back in the late 70's and early 80's and later to be referred to as DEEP HOUSE; but, which was actually disco music and, HOUSE MUSIC as we know it today which originated from Chicago and has taken the world by storm. Although Jesse Saunders "On and On" was the first House trax on vinyl it was an evolution as with any style of music that led to the creation of"HOUSE MUSIC."

The"HOT MIX 5"were one of the key elements in the evolution of House Music being exposed on a major scale in Chicago. To this day people still talk about the legendary SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE "ain't no jive" CHICAGO DANCE PARTY hosted by yours truly ARMANDO. The impact and the influence these deejays had on the music scene via the mix show even before HOUSE MUSIC was immeasurable.

The pioneers of House Music opened the door for the likes of Marshall Jefferson and his House Music Anthem "Move Your Body", Ten City "Devotion", Tyree Cooper & Kool Rock Steady "Turn up the Bass", Fast Eddie "Yo Yo Get Funky", Robert Owens & Larry Heard of Fingers Inc. "Mystery of Love", Chip E. "Like This", D.J. Pierre "Fantasy Girl", Mr. Lee "Get Busy", Quest featuring Liz Torres "No More Mind Games", Ralphie Rosario featuring Xaviera Gold "U Used to Hold Me", Adonis "No way Back" and many more such as Bam Bam, Julian Perez, Bad Boy Bill, Frankie Hollywood Rodriguez, Matt Warren, Ricky Lenoir, Ricky Dillard and the list goes "ON AND ON" ....
